Job Description:

Maintain and update purchasing plans that meet established customer service targets and inventory goals. Ensure the SAP system is updated with the best information available to predict shipment and accommodate the import lead time and vendor purchasing parameters.

• Provide direction, through integration of market and Medline division plans into SAP, to Shanghai buying group to place orders.


• Direct suppliers to ship quantities ensuring sufficient supply to customers, manageable monthly turns of inventory, minimal surplus charges and consistent production schedule for the factories.


• Communicate with managers and division personnel to alert them of potential supply issues. Escalate the most urgent issues when supply issues are not satisfactorily resolved.


• Manage the monthly turns of inventory, minimal surplus and provide consistent factory utilization in cooperation with Shanghai. Understand vendor's capacity, lead-time and operational plans, to ensure proper ship quantities are delivered on time and in the most cost effective manner.


• Coordinate/follow-up with Shanghai purchasing, operations and warehousing regarding "troubled" orders, material outages, specials and projects. Manage inventory strategy. Coordinate with the Shanghai expediters to make certain the factories are conforming to our requests for timely shipments and documentation.


• Execute process flows, rules, data standards, valid values for master data fields relevant to Inventory Management. Manage change requests, document changes and communicate changes to all process team, product divisions and interested parties.

• Bachelor's degree.

Relevant Work Experience

• At least 3 years related experience with Master Production Scheduling and Materials Requirements Planning or in Supply Chain Logistics.

Additional

• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).


• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).


• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as algebra and probability and statistical inference to practical situations.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant Work Experience

• Knowledge of Database Application(s) (Access or FoxPro) and experience with SAP.
