Job Description:

This Associate position will be part of the Small Business Bionics team, within our Small Business Decision Sciences team.

The successful candidate will be a Data Scientist and an AI evangelist with an ability to find AI/ML applications that make a difference, will help us power bankers' decision making.

Primary responsibilities

Develop AI/ML models that make a difference


  • Train AI/ML algorithms to identify opportunities in better serving our clients
  • Find opportunities where AI/ML adds the most value to decision-making
  • Identify the required means to develop and scale AI/ML models
  • Design and prototype AI/ML engines and showcase capability
  • Create interfaces and tools for Decision Makers to use algorithms efficiently
  • Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies
  • Establish roadmap prioritize and roll out models, ensure timely delivery and escalate when necessary
  • Design and implement controls (e.g. for model bias and inaccuracy, data quality) allowing models to be tested and audited

Partner with modeling teams to build and productionalize AI/ML tools

  • Align with and supervise modeling teams in model development efforts
  • Partner with our data architecture teams and co-design data pipelines
  • Test developed models to use cases in Bionics programs, and measure impact
  • Partner with Risk, Controls and Compliance to ensure soundness and compliance with firm-wide model governance
  • Think critically about headwinds facing the business and explore opportunities for analytics
  • Participate in the research lifecycle beginning with problem discovery, gathering data, designing solutions and with a focus on building prototype applications and migrating them to robust production

Coach and develop your skills, build expertise within Chase Small Business Banking

  • Bring and build expertise AI and Machine Learning within the team
  • Conduct research and development with emerging technologies, determine their applicability to business use cases, document and communicate their recommended use
  • Act as a SME in AI/ML within Small Business Banking and beyond, create frameworks for common topics

Qualifications

Background:


  • Degree in a scientific field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years of advanced analytics experience in Financial Services
  • Track record of developing ML and statistical models for innovative solutions at scale, including controls, documentation and liaison with Risk, Controls and Compliance

Skills:


  • Machine learning algorithms including deep learning (CNN, NLQ, NLP), time series forecasting, statistical analysis
  • Deep understanding of model limitations and risks associated, e.g. ability to test for model bias
  • Expertise in Python, PySpark, or Scala
  • Practical experience with ML platforms such as Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch
  • Strong understanding of data structure and SQL skills (experience building stored procedures and troubleshooting data quality issues)
  • Knowledge of version control tools and processes (e.g. Subversion, Git)
