Job Description:

In 1985, Koch Foods started as a one-room chicken de-boning and cutting operation with 13 employees. We’ve grown to be one of the top poultry processors in the U.S., but the core of who we are remains unchanged: a team that is adept, reliable and service oriented.

Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for exercising safe driving practices, and operating a commercial motor vehicle transporting loaded drop trailers to designated locations in a safe and secure manner. Responsible for compliance with the Department of Transportation, safety rules and regulations, company policies and local, state and federal policies, laws and procedures. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Transport trailers on property to designated locations.

  • Weigh loads on scales as required.

  • Unhook binders on cages.

  • Perform pre-trip inspections.

  • Ensure safety of loads.

  • Maintain proper documentation.

  • Comply with established company fueling procedures.

  • Communicate with dispatchers on a regular basis.

  • Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness at all times.

  • Attend monthly safety meetings.

  • Comply with all DOT, company, biosecurity, FSMA, local, state and federal laws, policies, practices and procedures.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:


  • Class A CDL required

  • One (1) year of verifiable commercial driving experience

  • Clean driving record

  • No felony convictions with the past 7 years.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, days and holidays

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures

  • Body Strength: physical labor involved such as climbing, stooping, bending, walking and lifting

  • Promptness, dependability and good communication skills

Physical/Environmental Factors:


  • Outdoor year round seasonal temperatures, including inclement weather on a daily basis.

  • Exposed to noise levels greater than 85 decibels.

  • Exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

  • Exposure to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

  • Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia.

  • Work may include lifting (35 to 65 lbs), reaching, bending, and pushing.

  • Strong, raw and foul odors.
