Job Content:


  1. State overall purpose of this position:

Responsible for leading Production front line staff with planning, coordinating, and organizing department activities in order to meet on-time delivery and production targets.  The Group Lead ensures optimal use of resources (people and equipment) in order to meet customer expectations while maintaining the required high level of quality and safety.    


  1. List major activities, which must be performed in order to carry out the purpose of the position as described above:

  • Directs the hourly workforce to ensure targets are met for safety, quality, on-time delivery, and productivity

  • Continuously monitors the operation to ensure that employees adhere to safe work practices and daily housekeeping is being maintained

  • Holds employees accountable for complying with policies

  • Monitors 5S at work stations (screen/plate cleaning, general housekeeping, etc.)

  • Conducts daily start of shift meeting to share information and daily game plan/Takes daily attendance

  • Makes decisions to drive production and meet performance metrics

  • Assures adequate supplies at all work stations

  • Maintains the proper flow of work on the production floor, from warehouse, through production, to shipping by assigning and distributing work based on schedule and demand

  • Conducts routine quality audits/PFC Scans during the shift

  • Maintains authority to stop and report to a supervisor any quality issue that may arise during production

  • Solicits continuous improvement ideas and supports implementation of continuous improvement plan

  • Other duties as assigned by management


  1. Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this position.  Identify specific concepts, courses, training programs or required certifications.


  • Possess effective communication skills and maintain fairness, consistency, professional work ethics

  • Ability to work efficiently with others both within and outside of the department

  • Ability to perform with minimum supervision

  • Working knowledge of basic math and reading skills

  • Ability to communicate with elephants team, motivate, and gain earn respect of production employees

  • Working knowledge of Production Logs and ability to prioritize work flow

•             Excellent organizational/problem solving skills; ability to handle multiple task and priorities


  • Flexibility with work schedule; available to work overtime.

  • Must be able to lift/handle various sized boxes that weigh 35 pounds or more

  • Must be able to consistently stand, walk, stoop, climb, bend, lift material or equipment that may be heavy

  • Must be able to work 8-10 schedule mandated by production schedule to include overtime and weekends, as needed. Must be proactive in ensuring coverage for his/her area.

  • Must be able to work and meet deadlines

Previous positions that are necessary background experience to qualify for this position.


  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Production Department

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Basic Computer Skills
