Job Description:

Columbus Regional Airport Authority is looking for a Fleet Technician who wants to “Land Your Next Career”! This position will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical repair and preventative maintenance work on our diversified vehicle fleet and heavy equipment.

The Columbus Regional Airport Authority manages and operates passenger-focused John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), cargo-focused Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK), and general aviation airport Bolton Field (TZR).

Your “Take Off” will be successful by doing the following with excellence:


  • Perform major and minor repair for both light and heavy equipment, hydraulic systems work, cleaning and replacing ignition parts, and installing coolant components.

  • Check tire and suspension wear and correct any issues.

  • Install rings, bearings and make proper adjustments to fuel systems, heavy duty manual and automatic transmissions and clutches.

  • Perform electrical work on batteries and terminals, repair and adjust lights and repair generators and starters on vehicles and heavy equipment.

  • Repair and service ground support equipment, FBO fuel trucks and rescue fire equipment.

  • Review, prepare and complete work orders in a timely manner.

Your “Landing” will be smooth if you meet the following requirements:


  • At least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED

  • Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and Commercial Driver’s License (Class B), in good standing

  • Two (2) years of experience as a fully skilled auto mechanic on heavy equipment

  • Knowledge of the principles of internal combustion engines, both gas and diesel engines

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in an indoor, outdoor, and mechanical shop environment

  • Can pass background check and drug test
