There is an immediate opportunity for

APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

at the Western Operations of Altec Industries

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Preferred


• EIT registration or ability to obtain registration


• Current valid Driver's License


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision


• Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying

Applications Engineer - MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interface with Technical Sales Representatives on customer specifications to clarify requirements, issues, any suggested improvements, etc


• Use sales documentation of customer requirements to create complete 3D models of finished trucks with all desired features and accessories


• Create custom parts and assemblies to meet customer requirements and expectations


• Create corresponding part numbers and parts pages for designed parts/assemblies for reference and manufacturability


• Create Bills of Material for all appropriate parts and assemblies required to meet build specifications


• Create weight distribution estimates for finished trucks to verify legal and customer desired adherences


• Responsible for support to Production for customer build throughout entire manufacturing process (i.e. troubleshooting issues)


• Participate in Rapid Continuous Improvement events to provide support and feedback to improve processes, decrease cost, enhance quality, etc


• Provide technical assistance to Altec Service Centers, Mobile Service Technicians and Altec Call Centers


• Create hydraulic and electrical designs per unit specifications and customer requirements


• Create corresponding schematics per the hydraulic/electrical design
