Responsibilities
- Obtain list of rooms to be cleaned through Banquet Event Orders and Manager of Housekeeping
- Clean rooms according to standard operating procedure and the prescribed standards of cleanliness
- Launder linens and staff uniforms from Dining Services and Campus Dining
- Ensure adequate supplies by inventorying stock
- Make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation
- Ensure that the outside grounds around the building after events are clear of stemware, china and trash including emptying of trash receptacles
- Examine building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and make recommendations to management
- Attend staff meetings to discuss company policies and patrons' complaints
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications
- Educational Requirements (High School or Equivalent), plus one to two years' experience as a housekeeper in a catering facility, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
- Work a flexible schedule with hours that coincide with scheduled events, including holidays, weekends, and evenings
- Excellent communication skills
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND STRESS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
