Job Purpose

Provide material delivery, preparation and replenishment support to the various production areas within the facility. Position requires the physical movement of materials from one area to another with direct support of receiving and shipping of material or components. Primary focus is to support direct production activities allowing production personnel to focus exclusively on value-added work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Pick various materials, parts and assemblies from warehouse, VMI, and various staging locations for production area use.


• Prepare and stage materials and tools for optimal production use.


• Use SAP to complete required material movements and research as required.


• Replenish and return materials as needed per request, visual indicators, or if found defective.


• Look for ways to constantly reduce inventories, manage kanbans, and assuring good communication among team members.


• Apply continuous improvement methods to identify and reduce pick errors, process issues, and quality concerns.


• Read basic work instructions to determine materials staging and preparation methods needed to support assembly work.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.


• 2-4 years of experience in the field of production or warehouse operations.


• Ability to read, write, and understand the local language.

General Job Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  


• Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  


• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  


• Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  


• This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
  


• Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
