Job Description:

The IPM Process Manager is responsible for managing the end to end Integrated Portfolio Management processes by ensuring the successful portfolio reporting, governance, and standardized workflow within the Clinical Diagnostics Group. Specifically, he/she will leverage best practices in managing the project/program phase gate funnel for the governance body (Portfolio Decision Team), manage portfolio reporting (metrics, status, contracts), provide consulting support to program teams in preparation for governance review, maintain organization of program file structure, and develop and maintain standardized workflows for project management and resource planning systems. The position will manage governance timelines, correspond with global teams, and keep senior level leaders informed of changes to the Portfolio. In addition, the IPM Process manager takes ownership for the efficient execution of the monthly PDT (governance review) and decision documentation.

This is a critical role in Bio-Rad PMO, with direct visibility at the Portfolio Decision Team (Executive governance Body) and has a major impact on the successful execution of the Group's Strategy. The IPM Process Manager will work under the direction of the Portfolio Decision Team and VP or Director of PMO and ensure accurate reporting of the investment portfolio.

Responsibilities


  • Work with Core Team Leaders and Project Managers to ensure portfolio metrics and status are accurate and current by ensuring high data integrity and data controls.

  • Develops methodologies, procedures, and systems to produce project tracking & reporting.

  • Develops/update project progress on project execution metrics, demand/capacity planning and status reports on weekly and monthly basis.

  • Lead development of quarterly portfolio review presentation with Executive Leadership Team.

  • Track of programs/projects, track issues/risks, & document progress and prepare status reports (metrics, summaries, etc) for PDT.

  • Prioritize and implement approved improvements and gaps.

  • Leverage PM leaders and SMEs as source for improvement opportunities.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in science, business, engineering, or a related field.

  • PMP or any equivalent certification is an asset.

  • 5 years of industry experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in as a project coordination, process management or project management.

  • Highly Organized and detail oriented. Experience with project management/coordination.

  • Strong business acumen and product development knowledge business acumen. Must be good with working with financial models, schedules and risk registers.

  • Experience in updating timelines, detailed reports, and executive summaries.

  • Utilize a consultative approach to help teams prepare for governance review and maintain strong working relationships across multiple functions.

  • Demonstrate good judgment and timely decision-making.

  • Motivated self-starter, independent driver with experience working in a fast-paced work environment is a must. Possess the aptitude to engage and influence across all levels.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in MS365 Applications (including Sharepoint). Experience with Smartsheet and PDWare is highly desirable.
