Join us as our new Facilities Services Project Coordinator
Plan, organize and support all services to provide consistently high-quality support to the site facility, as well as, manage the execution of small frame capital projects through the design phases, construction, commissioning, turn over and closure.

Welcome to Facilities Services & Engineering
Our Engineering & Facilities organization ties together construction and site services to support Operations, Supply and Quality. We construct new facilities, optimize existing facilities and provide services for maintaining our facilities to ensure the capacity and the capability to deliver competitively to our customers, while fostering a strong customer service support role to our employees.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

Being responsible for the day-to-day administration of contracted services for custodial, landscaping, and non-production facility maintenance. This includes:

• Serving as the primary interface between Novozymes and facility service provider(s).


• Coordinating and improving facility services in a cost effective and sustainable manner.


• Conducting periodic audits of services, evaluate and resolve issues.


• Ensuring timely and cost-effective services including office moves, plumbing repairs, HVAC repairs, office painting, and all other facilities related repairs. Managing minor work orders to avoid bringing in outside vendor to save on cost.


• Performing and maintaining the PM list from the CMMS system and daily checklist.

Directly coordinating small investment capital projects. This includes:

• Planning, schedule development, budget development, procurement, installation start-up and project turnover in accordance to the Novozymes project model and handbook.


• Establishing and leading effective cross functional project teams.


• Collaborating with line of business user groups to assure that user requirements are effectively transformed into project solutions.


• Establishing effective means and methods for handling risk management, change management and stakeholder relations.


• Coordinating the use of external engineering firms, consultants, suppliers and contractors required for project activities and assure their work conforms to project requirements.


• Collaborating with the NZ Project Sourcing department to obtain the most cost-effective project solution that meets user requirements.

To succeed you must hold:

• Minimum five years of relevant experience in a continuous processing industrial facility with increasing levels of responsibility.


• High school diploma required, relevant community college and/or professional certifications preferred.


• Working knowledge of safe work practices.


• Prior experience in the execution of a capital investment projects.


• Working knowledge of personnel computer applications such as Microsoft Office, MS Project, SAP, etc.


• Good interpersonal and team working skills. Must apply absolute discretion in handling and processing confidential data.


• Work independently with demonstrated success in attention to detail, taking initiative, collaboration, time management, and displaying a needed sense of urgency, as well as, flexibility regarding changes.


• Effective written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to facilitate cooperation between departments to achieve desired results.


• Possesses the physical ability, visual acuity, and motor skills necessary to perform essential functions of the position, including operating in laboratory and industry environments. Must be able to move about in the processing areas and be able to climb stairs, ladders and enter tanks.


• Must possess visual acuity and manual dexterity required for job duties. Must be able to climb stairs and be able to operate machinery & equipment and be able to lift 50lbs.

This job will be located at our sites in Salem, VA.
