Power Electronics Product Leader

The mission of this role is to accelerate Visteon's reputation for technical excellence in leading the global design and implementation of the current- and future-state power electronics product portfolio.



How You Will Spend Your Days
Creating the vision and developing the power electronics product portfolio by:
o Collaborating across the organization to gain approval and commitment to the power electronics technology roadmap, systems specifications and product requirements
o Defining and managing the related global product management budget


Overseeing the customer request for quotation (RFQ) process by:
o Collaborating with appropriate internal stakeholders to review and approve the details of the customer RFQ
o Generating compliance matrices
o Evaluating technical feasibility
o Architecting the product to meet customer specific requirements
o Leading the technical communications with key customer contacts


Leading technical product development by:
o Approving design and drawing reviews with relevant suppliers
o Interfacing with customer and advanced engineering teams to understand current and future architectures, requirements and technology needs
o Managing the cross-functional resources include hardware, software, manufacturing, validation and cybersecurity to ensure product development integrity
o Collaborating with engineering delivery teams to develop detailed project plans
o Ensuring engineering process compliance
o Playing a lead role in technical and complex problem solving when design issues arise


A Successful Year One
* Developing and securing approval of power electronic roadmap and market penetration strategy
* Delivering first prototype of power electronics and achieving customer win
* Acquiring and developing a strong global team



Technical Knowledge and Skills


* Minimum five years of team management experience in power Modules, Microcontrollers, Thermal and Layout
* Minimum ten years of experience in automotive domain focusing on last five years of experience in the Electric Vehicle or Power conversion space with power electronics and vehicle electrification at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
* Five or more years in HV inverters or power converters at the system level
* Solid exposure to software knowledge including; Applications requirements, functional safety, CAN messages, Flashing software and Vector tools
* System knowledge including; inverters/OBC/DCDC testing
* Strong experience in interacting with internal stakeholders and external customers at the OEM or Tier 1 level
