SUMMARY

Responsible for evaluating prospect data and identifying opportunities to optimize benefits programs through a strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat (SWOT) analysis framework. Works closely with Alliant's ResultsFirst National Sales practice group, consultants, producers and others to develop consultative sales presentations using proprietary systems and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Confirms objectives and deliverable timeframes for each project, negotiating deadlines as appropriate;

  • Collects, itemizes and catalogues prospect data, following-up as needed;

  • Evaluates prospect data using proprietary analytics tools;

  • Creates custom exhibits and analysis derived on datasets as needed;

  • Identifies potential solutions and opportunities (SWOT analysis) that optimize benefits program while aligning with organization's objectives;

  • Develops presentations based on analysis and partners with ResultsFirst Program consultants to present results to internal stakeholders;

  • Contributes to optimizing team processes and driving efficiencies through use of technology;

  • Reviews team member's work for accuracy and completeness as needed;

  • Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity through entering and maintaining complete and accurate information;

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Three (3) to five (5) years direct employee benefit insurance program experience in a Benefits Analyst or related role

Valid insurance license (or must be obtained within 90 days of employment)

Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal

SKILLS

Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills

Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

Ability to summarize technical or complex information into clear actionable recommendations

Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork

Ability to work productively as an individual to accomplish assigned projects

Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines

Strong grasp of employee benefits insurance including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability

Basic knowledge of compliance topics (HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, Medicare)

Understands fundamentals of insurance underwriting

Advanced in Microsoft Excel and intermediate PowerPoint
