As the first and last impression of the restaurant, you are responsible to insure we provide a positive experience to the guests of the restaurant upon their arrival and departure. You will also in the absence of the manager or supervisor, to provide oversight of the restaurant to maintain the set quality standards of service.
Control the flow of work in the Restaurant by seating guests in station rotation while maintaining professional first impressions at the door. A sense of urgency / ownership is conveyed 100% of the time to insure immediate guest contact and great customer experiences.
In the absence of the manager provide tasks such as assigning opening and/or closing side duties, service stocking needs, tabletop maintenance and follow up for accuracy. Also, assist with the reservation book and any other administrative duties.
Handle any other tasks given by the manager or supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be fully competent to conduct positive professional interactions with guests.
Must possess a complete understanding of the job functions of servers, server assistants and bartenders.
Must have a complete understanding of the make-up of all stations on the floor, the table and guest numbering system and the proper seating method for the room.
Possess full capabilities to work the POS system.
Understands the importance of maintaining a sense of urgency to serve all guests in the restaurant and ensure that all servers and server assistants conduct their duties with the same sense of urgency.
Has a complete understanding of all menus.
Possess good math and English skills for calculating, communicating, writing requisitions/ completing food inventories and for retrieving information as needed.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
Knowledge of all menu items, prices and general service procedures.
Must possess basic computational ability.
Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: High school or equivalent education required.
EXPERIENCE: Previous restaurant/hospitality experience in public contact or customer service position.
