Position Description
The EVS Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for the abstraction of data from the various systems for compilation of reports and management accountability. The position is responsible for managing all processes related to the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality data used for reporting Continuous Quality Improvement and management information. Coordinates quality improvement activities for the EVS Tri-Campus reports. Serves as a resource and communication link for Quality Improvement Initiatives. Facilitates team work and the use of continuous quality improvement methodologies (flow charting, control charts, pivot table, etc.) Coordinates quality improvement activities for Environmental Services Department. Serves as a resource for the Tri-Campus EVS Departments to facilitate teamwork and improvements in clinical care, operations and customer service. Identifies improvement opportunities and collaborates with leadership in development of program goals and action plans. Effectively manages improvement projects and participates in multidisciplinary care teams to achieve established goals.Position Requirements
Required: 1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare related field or equivalent healthcare experience. 2. Master's Degree in Healthcare or a related field from an accredited college or university, preferred. 3. Demonstrated leadership ability and effective analytical and communication skills 4. Ability to work independently; ability to prioritize assignments and use sound judgment. 5. Strong research skills, including proficiency in common reporting. 6. Must possess good interpersonal skills with knowledge of team dynamics in an interdisciplinary setting. 7. Must possess skills in and knowledge of organization software (i.e. visibility) 8. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 9. Experience in project management such as bed turn, uniform ordering, etc. 10. Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and discretion as appropriate in all interactions 11. Effective computer skills; Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 12. One year of recent work experience related to healthcare operations or quality improvement 13. Successful coordination, team leadership and service skills. 14. Previous experience with data registry extraction and submission, quality assurance. 15. Database data entry and/or management experience. 16. Quality improvement or patient safety knowledge and experience. 17. Presentation skills and experience. 18. Coordinates departmental quality improvement plan and reporting with tri-campus plan and objectives, including departmental issues as patient satisfaction, and cost reduction. 19. Demonstrates the Hospital's value statements and service excellence behaviors routinely in encounters with all customers, i.e., coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, auxilians, payors and vendors.

License/Certification Requirements: No

Work Hours: 8a-4:30p
