Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) is seeking forward-thinking, professionals interested in exploring a career as a Quality Assurance Inspector!

The Quality Assurance Inspector will provide Quality Inspection support to the MFC to ensure compliance with DOE, Company, and customer specific requirements applicable to Quality Inspection. Additionally, they will:


  • Perform Basic and Nondestructive Examination (NDE) inspections on nuclear facility, maintenance, fabrication and construction projects.

  • Provide assistance to Quality Engineers during design reviews and inspection planning,

  • Act as quality program inspector technical authority representative both in the field and at suppliers facilities.

  • Provide first-line inspection and testing in support of nuclear maintenance, and similar in-house activities.

  • Provide technical expertise in NDE methods RT, VT, PT, MT, UT (if certified) to support work activities requiring a qualified inspector.

  • Provide Inspector Certification activities in support of the INL Inspector Certification Program.

  • Perform technical reviews to maintain company level inspection procedures accurate and correct.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Level 3 - High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 2-4 years relevant Quality Inspector experience.

  • Level 4 - High School Diploma or Equivalent plus at least 6 years relevant Quality Inspector experience.

  • Able to obtain and maintain a DOE L or higher, security clearance. US citizenship required.

  • Able obtain and maintain Radiation Worker II qualification.

Preferred Requirements:

Additional Consideration will be given to candidates who:


  • Possess an American Welding Society QC1 Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)

  • Demonstrate ASME Piping Code knowledge and experience (e.g., B31.1, B31.3)

  • Demonstrate SNT-TC-1A certification in Radiography, and/or Ultrasonic, and/or Eddy Current

  • Hold certifications per MCP-13425 and MCP-13426 in Non-destructive Examination and Quality Inspection areas.
