This position is part of The RMR Group's commercial real estate lending platform, Tremont Realty Advisors. As a part of this collaborative and high-performing team, this candidate will work to establish and maintain relationships with commercial real estate firms and mortgage brokers in order to source loan opportunities ranging in size from $10 to $50 million secured by middle market commercial real estate assets located in primary and secondary markets across United States.
Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of quality, first mortgage middle market bridge loans.
Track and maintain origination efforts, new loan opportunities and personal deal pipeline by utilizing our Client Relationship Management portal ("CRM") portal, Deal Cloud.
Generate concise, well written screening memoranda in our CRM portal to facilitate quicker "go/no-go" decision making.
Leverage the RMR Group's internal asset and property management groups to gather insights on market and submarket conditions in order to efficiently evaluate new loan opportunities
Engage with prospects both individually and with other Tremont team members by participating in conferences and other industry related events as well as setting up in-person or remote marketing presentations to the national and regional mortgage brokerage firms.
Work closely with Underwriting and Asset Management team members to 1) generate and negotiate term sheets and loan applications 2) generate formal investment memoranda for presentation to investment committee 3) provide support during the Loan Closing process.
Communicate with other origination team members and senior management regarding transaction opportunities and status of on-going loan processing activities.
Our professionals are expected to embrace our team-oriented approach to originations and collaborate with other origination professionals to achieve our firm's overall objectives.
From time to time, team members are expected to assist with additional assignments that may be requested by senior management.
Assist with the training and development of other team members as we continue to grow our lending platform.
Bachelor's degree required.
Prior established network of Midwest/West Coast brokerage contacts and commercial real estate investors is preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in structured loan originations or CMBS, preferably at a debt fund, mortgage brokerage, commercial or investment bank.
Proven originations track record of sourcing and closing commercial and multifamily loans.
Formal bank credit training while not required would be a benefit.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A solid understanding of all commercial real estate asset classes, valuation and cash flow metrics.
Strong analytical skills.
Technology proficient and in particular an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to create, modify and analyze financial spreadsheets and calculate investment returns.
Working knowledge of CoStar, Trepp and other data services preferred.
Ideal Candidates will also be detail oriented and persistent in pursuit of information required to evaluate and process loan requests.
