This position is an Intern opportunity for undergraduate students focusing on GIS . Only undergraduates will be considered. Local candidates preferred. No relocation assistance provided.

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is actively seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern for the Moon Township, PA office.

A GIS Intern performs entry level tasks related to GIS and software development, map production, and analysis as needed on projects.

• Work as a team member on projects under direct supervision and mentorship
• Assist with various GIS or software development processing tasks
• Assist with GIS data collection, input, verification, and manipulation
• Assist with map exhibit production and geospatial analysis
• Assist with GIS software development tasks
• Assist with GIS software user testing and documentation

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Currently enrolled in good academic standing and pursuing a Bachelors' Degree in GIS, Geography or Civil Engineering related field at an accredited University or College; minimum of 1 year of coursework completed
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• 0 years of experience with geographic concepts or GIS software. Must be capable of the basic operation of a Windows-based personal computer and have a basic familiarity of Microsoft Office.
• 6-12 months of academic experience with geographic concepts or GIS software
• Prior experience or coursework with any of the following is a plus: LiDAR, ESRI ArcGIS, Bentley MicroStation/Autodesk AutoCAD, software development, databases, user-centered design, hydrologic modeling
