Your Role:

Your role will be accountable for:

  • Lead for Oncology indication/asset, reporting to the Senior Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research - Oncology, in the North American Medical Affairs Department

  • Lead for the cross-functional Medical Access Sub-team (MAST), responsible for the development and execution of the HEOR strategic plan, tactical plan, and having full responsibility for managing the associated budget

  • Planning, driving and implementing the interdisciplinary, local health outcomes, health economics and comparative effectiveness evidence generation strategy for US Medical for EMD Serono.

  • Assist the Canadian Market Access and Canadian Medical Affairs team with their health economic and outcomes research evidence needs, as required to support HTA success and access

  • Working closely with US market access counterparts to support access strategies and plan for the indication/asset

  • Delivering US economic models and integrated value dossiers to demonstrate the additional therapeutic value of EMD Serono's products.

  • Supporting Canadian economic models, as required by the local team

  • Developing RWE studies and/or analyses and supporting other evidence generation strategies (P3b or P4) in close collaboration with Medical and Global Evidence and Value Development colleagues

  • Providing critical input/suggestion to global product development from the perspective of the US healthcare system

  • Working collaboratively with cross functional teams to plan and execute subgroup analyses of clinical data (i.e., supplemental Statistical Analysis Plan), in accordance with the HEOR strategic plan

  • Developing key deliverables such as publications of study results, writing reports, presentations to internal and external working groups, advisory boards, networks, or congresses and training of internal stakeholders and subsidiaries, and obtaining necessary internal approvals (i.e., legal, compliance, Medical-Legal-Review, DataVision).

  • Providing evidence-based, scientific support of local submissions (i.e. AMCP Dossier) and presentations to support activities related to health technology appraisal, reimbursement (e.g., managed care) and/or pricing authorities in USA.

  • Support, as required by the Canadian Market Access or Medical teams for local budget impact/economic models, or publications

Who you are:

  • Advanced degree in Medicine or Pharmaceutical Sciences, postgraduate qualification in Health Economics or Public Health / Health Services Research

  • Min. 5 years of practical experience with HTA & Reimbursement within pharmaceutical industry for candidates with MS and min. of 3 years' experience with relevant terminal degree (PharmD, PhD etc)

  • Strong conceptual, methodological, and analytical skills. Demonstration of comprehensive mastery of health economics and/or epidemiological statistical methodologies as well as ability to apply such knowledge in a concrete business context to develop and execute research that supports patient access to therapy

  • Strong communication skills are critical; this role will have regular communications and presentations to various cross functional teams

  • Excellent understanding of US payers (including commercial and government) and the healthcare sytem in general.

  • Knowledge of the obtaining market access for product and the associated evidence-based medicine area and challenges

  • Basic familiarity with the Canadian reimbursement and access landscape desirable

  • Experience in oncology is preferred but not required
