Requisition Summary


Seeking energetic, independent engineer with interest in creating, defining, and launching the next generation of industry-leading trucks. Primary responsibility will be providing subject matter expert guidance to the PACCAR organization through the position of a Vehicle Ride Engineer in the Vehicle Performance group.

Job Description


The Vehicle Ride Engineer will be responsible for activities related to Ride Property Ownership at Peterbilt in Denton, Texas. Duties include benchmarking, research and development, engineering assistance, problem resolution, program guidance and support, and other duties supporting various aspects of Vehicle Properties and Performance.

Job Functions / Responsibilities


Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:


  • Direct and/or conduct research and concept development and evaluation related to Vehicle Ride

  • Meet routinely with Product Planning, Engineering, Management, and Property Owners to advocate for product improvements

  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert in Vehicle Ride

  • Be an advocate for the vision of the Vehicle Ride Property

  • Support early definition of new products and continue with on-going support throughout the development process.

  • Track and report on status of achieving program goals related to Vehicle Ride Performance

  • Utilize PTC Creo as a design tool

Qualifications / Skills



  • BS in Engineering or related field required; MS in Engineering or related field and PE license preferred

  • Knowledge of and/or experience in heavy truck components and systems preferred

  • Previous design experience of parts and assemblies preferred

  • Strength in handling multiple tasks and projects required

  • MatLab/Simulnk programming experience preferred

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required

Qualifications / Skills Continued



  • Conducting data analysis and generating graphs/charts using Excel, MiniTab, or Tableau required

  • Excel VBA and pivot table experience preferred

  • Experience presenting to Sr. Management and leading others through non-direct reporting roles preferred

  • Project management skills including interfacing with Kenworth and DAF Engineering, Product Planning, and Engineering Management is preferred

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) or strong desire to obtain is required

  • Six Sigma experience preferred
