JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data stored, transmitted and processed across information systems and devices within the environment. This role will monitor and administer security mechanisms that provide access control and user account management. The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will provide education to end users with regards to data security concepts, acceptable use and end user responsibility for protecting information assets. This role will also assist with assessments to measure cyber security effectiveness and compliance with policies relating to the security of information system resources. The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will collaborate across the business and work closely with IT staff to complete cyber security program initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Implement the required threat protection measures, tools and security controls to identify and protect against security threats and attacks.

  2. Install, maintain and utilize cyber security technology and software.

  3. Continuously update and improve the company’s training and user awareness programs.

  4. Responsible for routine system patching of servers, workstations and other devices.

  5. Coordinate and assist with cyber security assessments and risk analysis.

  6. Responsible for regular testing to simulate attacks and identify vulnerabilities.

  7. Continuously update and improve the company’s incident response and disaster recovery plans.

  8. Analyze, document, and report incident response activities.

  9. Escalate items which require further investigation to other members of the incident response team.

  10. Verify and assess the security of third parties and collaborate to meet security requirements.

  11. Monitor and analyze network and system to identify exploit or intrusion related attempts.

  12. Assist with regulatory compliance for all cyber related requirements.

  13. Research cyber security trends and stay updated on potential threats and attacks.

  14. Develop and maintain cyber security standards and processes.

  15. Collaborate with third party cyber security consultants and advisors to bolster the organization’s cyber security defense and response capabilities.

  16. Recommend and implement detection mechanisms and other tools to identify and prevent intrusion and exploits.

  17. Provide subject matter expertise on current and emerging cyber-attacks and intrusion methodologies.

  18. Educate and train other IT staff members on cyber security threats and prevention technologies.

  19. Report cyber security program status and progress to management and business stakeholders.

TRAVEL

Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Experience: 3+ years of cyber related experience

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

One or more cyber security certifications are preferred (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.)
