The Senior Paralegal, Global IP, IP & Commercial Litigation will support internal and external counsel at all stages of litigation for intellectual property and commercial matters and with global intellectual property issues. This position will also be responsible for assisting with corporate billing matters for IP and commercial litigation
Essential Functions:
Provide support in the handling and tracking of litigation matters, including organizing and calendaring of proceedings, and coordinating experts, internal investigations, and other litigation requirements;
Manage the discovery process including collection and retention and coordinating responses to subpoenas, other forms of governmental and/or regulatory inquiries and requests for documents;
Manage document preservation procedures through an electronic system and work cooperatively with IT to maintain such procedures;
Support for e-billing of outside counsel, third party vendors; preparation of monthly accruals and liaising with Finance regarding spend
Maintain and update internal legal department databases and assist in generating periodic reports for department and firm leadership
Assist with various special projects.
Education:
Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Years of experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree - Required
Vocational / Technical Paralegal certificate - years of experience will be considered in lieu of a certificate - Required
Experience:
8 years or more in 8 years of paralegal experience
3 years or more in 3 years of pharmaceutical experience
Skills:
Strong knowledge and facility with basic business software including Microsoft - Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint as well as Access Databases. - Intermediate
Quick study in new applications. - Advanced
Superior writing and communication skills. - Intermediate
