As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Standardizing system templates, procedures, and methodologies to optimize performance and minimize downtime


• Driving and developing creative methods for automated data visualization and analysis


• Creating and delivering comprehensive training and troubleshooting documentation


• Specifying and commissioning new automated equipment and vision systems


• Identifying and leading process improvement projects for integrated systems, manufacturing, and reporting to improve process safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and productivity


• Leading and contributing to key transformational technology driven programs

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience in robotics and/or vision systems in a private, public, academic, government or military environment


• Experience in a manufacturing environment


• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Robotics, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science


• Experience with PLC Programming or Data Automation


• Experience with process validation and documentation


• Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills to manage dynamic priorities


• Training and experience in Lean methodology, statistics, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma


• Passion for SMART Manufacturing and Data Automation


• C# Programming with MS Visual Studio


• Database skills with SQL scripts and stored procedures

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international
