The Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division of Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector seeks team members who want to solve interesting, complex problems which protect our nation. We are a trusted mission payload and ground system provider with extensive experience providing end-to-end mission solutions from concept through operations and support. The team you will support is located at our Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA.
What you'll get to do?
The Sagittarius Ground Segment (GS) Operations systems engineer supports the Ground Operations team for the development, test, and validation of standard operational procedures, technical orders (TOs), and processes (proc scripts) for Ground operation. The GS Ops SE will develop standard operational procedures, assist the SW development team with script development and participate in the integration and test of operational products. The GS Ops SE will be part of a cross-functional agile team on a fully integrated Agile program.
This role may be filled at the Principal or Senior Principal grade based on the qualifications listed below.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:
5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 0 years of experience with a PhD
Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 5 years
OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
OR Dept of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
Familiar with spacecraft operation
Proficient with programming and scripting
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer:
9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 5 years
OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
OR Dept of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
Familiar with spacecraft operation
Familiar with programming and scripting
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with spacecraft operation
Familiar with Payload operation
Experience with Agile processes
Experience with Atlassian agile tools (Jira & Confluence)
Experience with CAMEO or other MBSE architecture tools
