Position Profile
Jazz Pharmaceuticals' Information Technology (IT) department is seeking an Associate Director, Enterprise BI Platforms for the IT team. In this hands-on role, this person will be responsible for owning and supporting Enterprise BI platforms, new BI implementations & assessments, set standards & best practices and manage entire lifecycle of BI technology stack. This individual must be capable of managing BI Platforms, maintain documentation of architecture and data workflows and coordinate with offshore team for support & patch activities. This individual must be capable of interfacing with all levels of the organization to achieve success.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with other organizations and teams to implement and maintain a high performing BI infrastructure that enable and support the company's goals and objectives.
Design, manage, and optimize the BI platforms and the technology stack with respect to business need, growth and changes to the company.
Evaluate vendor platforms for ETL, Metadata Management, Self-Service Reporting tools and identify the best fit for Jazz.
Work closely with stakeholders (data engineers, data & business analysts, etc.) to establish best practices and deliver an operational framework that maximizes the users' effectiveness and adoption.
Knowledge of system administration, AWS services, clustering and setting up High-Availability systems is required.
Design and implement processes that enable him/her to achieve high service levels and good overall customer satisfaction.
Partner with IT teams, internal business partners, and external vendors to identify, understand, implement and support new business capabilities enabled by global BI solutions.
Collaborate with IT Infrastructure & Security to ensure that BI technology platforms have adequate infrastructure resources & comply with security guidelines. Participate in IT audits that involve BI platforms and technology.
Manage projects of small to large scope and size, to assess, evaluate and implement BI solutions.
Manage the production support for BI platforms to ensure business continuity, performance, and integrity of reports, dashboards and other business visible data solutions.
Knowledge of system administration, AWS services, clustering and setting up High-Availability systems is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have at least 8-10 years of IT experience with managing BI technology platforms.
At least 5 years of IT and/or related experience working in the pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare industry.
Must have hands-on experience operating Enterprise BI technology platforms for ETL, data marts/data warehouses, and reporting solutions.
Hands on knowledge of Informatica Intelligent Cloud Service (IICS) solution, security setup and best practices.
Hands on knowledge of development of ETL using Informatica IICS solution utilizing data integration, API & App integration and Data Quality framework.
Hands on knowledge of AWS Redshift, security architecture integrating with AD and optimization of database.
Exposure or knowledge of Metadata Management tools like Collibra, Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog or Alation is a plus.
Experience with one or more of the following technologies is highly desired: Vertica, SQL Server, Qlikview, QlikSense, Alteryx and Tableau.
Experience with vendor management for licensing, contracts and agreements for implementation & operations support.
Knowledge of EU data privacy laws and pharmaceutical regulations including 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP, GAMP 5, and Annex 11 is beneficial.
Must possess excellent communication (oral and written) and problem-solving skills
Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and able to multi-task
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, demanding and dynamic work environment requiring hands on platform administration skills if necessary.
