Position Description: This position will report jointly to the Grants & Contracts Accounting Office and the Office of Research Administration. The Training and communication coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of education programs as they relate to the University’s research program.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for providing high-quality information services and training to the OUHSC community regarding internal and external funding opportunities, workshops and training; to provide policy and procedural information regarding proposal submission and grant administration. Duties include but are not limited to:
Develop, maintain and deliver sponsored grants and contracts training and communication material for all audiences (researchers, department/center support, central support teams, etc.).
Be both proactive in information dissemination and responsive to specific requests from the OUHSC community in the delivery of our services.
Distribute timely information regarding seminars, workshops, and training opportunities provided.
Provide timely information to the OUHSC Community on policies and procedures relative to proposal submission and grants administration.
Represent the Office for Research Administration and Grants & Contracts Accounting Office on campus-wide committees.
Maintain accurate e-mail distribution lists through the University’s Information Technology Department and determine the most effective means of distribution of training and communication.
Organize and provide logistical support for training and communication opportunities.
Publicize and/or conduct training and workshop opportunities.
Retrieve notifications letters and grant announcements from various sponsor websites.
Update and maintain website content.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Experience: 24 months of grant management experience
Skills:
Excellent computer skills including the ability to conduct searches on a variety of databases and websites as well as a thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
Excellent organization skills as well as the ability to work independently
Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English with the confidence to conduct workshops/presentations in a public setting
Ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals including faculty, staff, post-docs, students, etc
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Able to communicate well and build rapport with a diverse group of faculty, staff, post-docs, students, and leadership
Ability to create and manage the distribution of internal and external communications (including newsletters, email announcements, planned publications, on-line, intranet, video, special projects and assignments) throughout a research organization for a varied and diverse audience
Preferences:
Prior knowledge or experience working with electronic research administration systems (eRA) and research compliance systems.
Familiarity with federal agencies including NIH, NSF, DOD, FDA, USDA, DoEd, and FDA.
Previous experience working with learning management systems and website administration system.
