Job Description:

Position Summary

Perform functions to promote sales and effective use of Mitutoyo America products by conducting product demonstrations and training, answering technical inquiries, overseeing product inventory, and assuring operability of metrology center equipment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Assist customers and Mitutoyo America personnel with product applications, trouble­shooting, and specific product recommendations.


2. Establish and conduct training programs on new and current products for customers and Mitutoyo America personnel as directed by regional manager.


3. Conduct product demonstrations and answer technical inquiries for customers and Mitutoyo America personnel.


4. Provide telephone technical support to customers and Mitutoyo America personnel. Document and report support activities as required.


5. Maintain communications with Mitutoyo America departments to keep abreast of new products and latest advancements of existing products.


6. Maintain reference libraries of product operation manuals. Assist customers and Mitutoyo America personnel with obtaining copies of reference materials.


7. Maintain and conduct product inventories.


8. Assure that metrology center products are operable and current.


9. Date and rotate products annually by working with sales personnel to sell outdated items.


10. Maintain appearance and cleanliness of facility.


11. Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.


12. Participate in Mitutoyo America and distributor trade shows.


13. Attend regional meetings and participate in sales training and product knowledge sessions as required.


14. Establish and conduct showroom open houses, seminars, and workshops.


15. Assist with sales calls as needed.

Work Environment:  Office Environment.  Showroom floor.

Physical Demands: The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.  Use of hand truck and reach lift.

Additional Qualifications:  Forklift Certified.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. 

Monday – Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM

Travel: Up to 25% travel is required with an average of up to 5 hours driving at one time.

Required Education and Experience:  Education equivalent of two year degree; additional specialized training. Three years’ experience.

Reports to:  Regional Sales Manager
