As part of a sales organization, the Associate Sales Analyst will work closely with the Director of Distribution Analytics, Distribution leadership team and employees across Marketing, Operations, and IT professionals to prepare insights on multiple projects to support sales growth strategies. The primary objective in this role is to determine, visualize and present business trends, and Distributor insights to drive data driven sales techniques.

The successful candidate for this position will be an analytical thinker that genuinely enjoys data analysis, poses an understanding of JH Insurance distribution landscape, team structure, clients, services, and operations. The Sales Analyst role is a dynamic, hands-on position in a fast-paced environment requiring the ideal candidate to bring a high level of energy and perform exceptionally as an individual problem solver and as an agile team contributor, while working with speed and accuracy.

Sales Analysts help Insurance Distributionoptimize promotional and operational sales strategiesthrough the analysis and prediction of sales trends, including productand Distributors market share.Sales analysts assess data like customer metrics, sales channel, and seller informationto determine the best methods of increasing both revenue and market share. They may partnerwith marketing departments, operations, sales teams, and executives to develop sales targets, assess strategies and projects to boost revenue, and develop promotional campaigns, and measure return of investment to the business.

Individual Accountabilities:


  • Prepare insights on business health, sales trends, and strategic initiatives for delivery to Distribution leadership team, and key Distributor relationships to facilitate data informed decision making and enable sales growth initiatives.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to present information, ensure data quality, build robust reporting in SalesForce, and stabilize data integrity to align opportunities that support business advancement and process improvements, including sales source identification, Wholesaler selling team alignment, performance tracking and outcomes.

  • Track key performance indicators on projects, including marketing campaigns, and key sales initiatives to harness structured and unstructured data, extract useful information, align sales teams' responsibilities to action work and create organizational efficiencies in workflow.

  • Prepares data for visualization platforms, removing erroneous data, extrapolating data patterns, and preparing reports (including graphs, charts, and dashboards) to be presented to Distribution employees, and in execution of Marketing campaigns. The complexity of reporting will vary in size and scope, including routine and ad hoc fulfillment.

  • Oversee tracking and troubleshooting of inquiries/issues related to sales team alignment and bridge communication between Distribution, Marketing, and may liaise with IT as required to assure data quality, consistency, reporting methodology, synthesis, and automation to accelerate analysis and insight delivery.

  • Manages data protection, data quality and data governance to identify gaps between current and desired end-state of data integrity within Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Proactively identify areas for data quality improvement, perform data cleanup, and recommend processes, to deliver data stabilization, and measures to quality assurance within CRM.

  • Upload, maintain, and monitor data segmentation models, client information, maintain data attribute fields, and Distributor hierarchies

  • Performs data maintenance, prepares large sets of data for integration across multiple systems

  • Responsible for tracking and troubleshooting of inquiries/problems about data effectiveness of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Key Shared Accountabilities:


  • Guide data mapping & recommend governance practices for Sales & Distribution, and across multiple platforms and business units to enable sales insights at all levels of the sales to funnel and maintain a data path to assure accurate inventory and sales forecasting results and work with Senior Analyst and Data Scientist to accelerate the delivery of data quality, and readiness.

  • Participate in projects related to data functions, pipeline management, CRM system and cross system testing to support Distribution data driven approach, including integrations of current and new technologies.

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business, mathematics, or computer science field

  • 2 year's experience

  • Familiar with Salesforce CRM, including report building, and utilization of data loader

  • Advanced / Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, v-lookup, macros, if/then statements, etc.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including standard command functions, pivot tables and macros

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments in an agile team, while maintaining personal accountability

  • Quick Learner with a capacity to pivot quickly, grasp new concepts, questioning mindset

  • Extremely detail oriented. Must be able to identify errors and develop controls to ensure accuracy.

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Excellent Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Skills

  • Ability to work with large amounts of information and see the 'bigger picture.'

  • Strong Prioritization Skills: A strong ability to manage multiple projects at one time & create sustainable methodologies
