PBS's highest-rated series, ROADSHOW, is seen by up to 7 million viewers each week. Staff and crew travel the U.S., and the country's leading the nation offer free appraisals of antiques and collectibles. ANTIQUES ROADSHOW cameras capture tales of family heirlooms, yard sale bargains, and long-lost items salvaged from attics and basements, while experts reveal the fascinating truths about these finds.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Assistant Editor reports to the Senior Producer and works under the daily supervision of the Post Production Director. This position prepares, organizes, supports, and helps deliver a wide variety of broadcast, promotional, digital, and other video content. The Assistant Editor works with the post-production director, editors, producers, and associate producers, to ingest, package, and support the editing process. The candidate should be well-experienced in Avid Media Composer and have had a minimum of three years with file-based media ingest organization and sequence relinking from various file formats and frame rates. Experience in support Da Vinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, and other NLE software is a plus. The Assistant Editor is specifically responsible for media management between edit suites and assisting editors in remote post-production. The assistant editor also creates a workflow for Avid projects. Some travel is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Organize media to maximize efficiency in the edit and post-production workflow


• Ingest, backup, and transcode media


• Avid project organization and clip labeling


• Export materials for review and the promotion/web units. Output proxies and HD screeners for producers


• Load and edit credits and lower thirds


• Create edited clip-reels and episodic promos


• Package and re-format clips


• Locate digital footage and tapes in Archive database and digitize material in Avid


• Add timecodes and clip durations to scripts for voice over sessions


• Create low-res viewers for all media that leaves the unit


• Manage and distribute collateral materials for the series, including billing blocks, funder beds, signature art, and cleared images


• Travel to and attend ROADSHOW and perform production assistant duties, including media management, timings, content monitoring, and other production support functions on set.


• Assist event and production team in pre-production.


• Assist business team in shut down process

SKILL SET

• Fluency in AVID Media Composer, Adobe (mainly After Effects), and 4K/HD workflow.


• Experience working under tight deadlines is a plus.


• Must be able to drive a car.


• Experience with overseeing program outputs, media management, and technical Apple and PC problem solving

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience considered.


• Minimum 2 years experience required.
