Maintenance Planner - Stockton at USG Corporation in Stockton, California

Job Description:

Primary Functions:

• To work within the RPM model and in conjunction with all plant departments to process work requests and expedite identified work.  


• To ensure that work is properly scheduled, planned, prioritized, and kitted to be completed in the most efficient manner possible.


• To perform MP2 recordkeeping and maintain equipment files.


• To maintain storeroom inventory by frequently adjusting and updating equipment and parts ordered and equipment and parts used.


• To perform RPM Storeroom tasks related to planning, kitting, and inventory control.

Basic Requirements:

1. Computer skills and experience desired - MP2, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.


2. Must have a thorough knowledge of plant equipment, operations, and maintenance activities.


3. Must show ability to read and interpret equipment and plant prints and drawings.


4. Must have good organizational skills to maintain equipment files and recordkeeping.


5. Must have good communication skills and the ability to work in and foster a team environment.

Job Procedures and Requirements:

1. Work within the framework of RPM to carryout assigned planner duties and responsibilities.


2. Prioritize, accurately plan and schedule all MP2 work based on equipment and man power availability.


3. Manage MP2 ensuring that all work orders are properly coded, estimated and have accurate and adequate information to minimize delays to completion.


4. Organize and manage the back log of identified work to facilitate a timely completion of properly prioritized work though proper and accurate job planning.


5. Work with maintenance supervision to properly use maintenance employee capabilities and maintenance resources for efficient completion of reliability related projects and work orders.


6. Administer work order completion and adjustment reporting to accurately track maintenance work and spending for equipment in the plant.


7. Verify storeroom inventory, collect parts as needed for work order kitting and update spare part information and equipment spare part lists associated with completed work.


8. Must be knowledgeable in the following areas to carry out administrative responsibilities:
   
   
   
   1. Spare parts inventory and procurement procedures
   
   
   2. Maintain equipment and plant files, drawings, and prints
   
   
   
   


9. Sometimes the Planner will have to work overtime.  As with all positions at the plant, overtime is mandatory and regular and predictable attendance is an essential factor.
