We are seeking a Director, Product - Best Buy Health – Data Platform in Digital and Technology to lead a portfolio of products and services that meet user (customer and colleague) needs, address the most important business objectives, and drive the Best Buy Health strategy focused on a combination of “tech” and “touch” to help seniors live independently in their homes and provide peace of mind to the millions of people caring for aging relatives.

This role requires mastery of most product management skills and is responsible for defining product vision, roadmap, and authoring quarterly objectives and key results in partnership with their product team and key stakeholders. They also have responsibility for overall product prioritization, ensuring their product portfolio delivers results that advance their vision and prioritized objectives.

Furthermore, they must have a deep understanding of their key customer and business metrics and leverage that knowledge to inform their priorities. They are also responsible for ensuring there are continuous feedback loops with their users (customers/employees) and supporting discovery practices that effectively inform their priorities and how they advance against the product team vision.

This role requires experience and passion for crafting a valuable data-powered user experience. They are responsible for unlocking the power of health data through a cloud-based, modern data platform that enables agility, scale, and quality/reliability. In addition, they will be responsible for the key capabilities of the platform – to deliver structured and unstructured data from across the health business and then process, store, enrich, and serve actionable insights and rich data visualization for key data-driven applications. Ultimately, the goal will be to unlock data to engage our customers, support our employees, and deliver impactful health offerings that create lovable experiences.

This servant leader will partner closely with Engineering on tenant, segmentation and data export strategy, Architecture, Operations, and Commercialization teams and business leaders as well as with external partners to advance our product development practices through durable product teams, agile methodologies, and consumer-centered design to iteratively launch solutions over multiple flight paths and drive consumer and commercial growth.

This role will have responsibility for building multi-team alignment on product prioritization (e.g. sprint, backlog, roadmap management) and must understand and utilize key customer and business metrics to inform their priorities. This servant leader will partner closely with Engineering teams, User Experience Teams, and numerous stakeholders throughout the organization.

This role requires a person who can take complex problems and formulate a compelling approach to define roadmaps, drive to solutions, apply a customer-obsessed mentality, balance quantitative and qualitative inputs to drive to recommendations and achieve outcomes, all while engaging and partnering highly effectively with cross-functional teams and executives.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:


  • Work closely with Digital & Technology leaders and Health executives to shape and define how technology can enable business objectives and priorities

  • Develop strategic ideas to leverage digital technologies to solve customer issues and unmet needs and enable new business opportunities

  • Keeps the customer need at the forefront of solution creation, demonstrating empathy for the customer at all times and working to reduce system constraints (resource, financial, technology) to build long-term customer engagement and brand love

  • Partner with senior leaders to oversee the development of the vision & business cases for high priority initiatives as well as agile roadmaps to mobilize

  • Exemplify innovating with purpose; demonstrating the test/learn/iterate mindset and promoting progress over perfection: accepting failure but not repeating mistakes

  • Improve value creation by defining and aligning on KPIs / OKRs to measure success

  • Serve as a thought leader, idea generator and source of inspiration to the broader organization while promoting innovative thinking through technical leadership and industry knowledge

  • Grow and train their direct leaders in preparation for future expanded leadership roles and influencing the development of their indirect leaders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of relevant Product Management Experience (Dev, UX, Strategy, etc.)

  • 5 or more years of direct people management and team management / leadership

  • 3 or more years of relevant experience in strategy creation, customer focused solutioning, cross-functional leadership, etc.

  • 2 or more years of experience in one or more of these industries: healthcare, medical device, digital therapeutics, and/or EMR

  • 2 or more years of experience working on data products and/or data platforms

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in data and analytics and, more specifically, data and analytics in healthcare

  • Understanding of HIPAA, FDA and FHIR standards

  • Experience with cloud providers including Microsoft Azure

  • Knowledge and passion for health care, retail, technology, and innovation

  • Ability to communicate to a wide spectrum of cross-functional team members, including technical and business resources

  • Executive presence including ability to lead and influence without direct authority

  • Ability to hire, lead, and develop high-performing product management teams

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels and ensuring teams create a collaborative culture

  • Extensive background of work that demonstrates advanced knowledge and skill in product management

  • Ability to work in ambiguity and break-down ambiguity into actionable items over distinct time horizons

  • Proven self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills
