Job Summary

This position will be responsible for the execution, development, administration, and advancement of Zimmer Biomet compensation programs primarily for the North American organizations but will also include collaboration with Non-U.S. organizations to ensure global alignment and progression of compensation programs. This includes ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. This individual will lead the teams’ efforts to work with cross-functional departments to provide latest thinking and approach based on market best practices, internal compensation support and analysis including total rewards programs, market data analysis, compensation issue resolution, and all other related compensation activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direction and management for the design, implementation and administration of the company’s compensation programs. • Hire, develop, manage, and support the work of team-members to meet business expectations. • Recommend changes to and new proposals for compensation programs based on the assessment of company needs and prevailing market practices. • Responsible for the management of Global and Regional compensation projects including the annual compensation process for merit, bonus and equity recommendations including the consolidation of materials for management review and approval. • Responsible for the development of compensation communication materials to HR management, the general employee population, and to Executive management. • Responsible for compensation budget recommendations to meet business needs and support the strategic direction of the company. This includes understanding the full cost impact all the compensation programs have on the overall company budget. • Research and identify compensation thought leadership and market best practices with the intent to implement changes that align with ZB’s compensation philosophy • Focus on continuous improvement across all areas of compensation • Advise HR and other management regarding the application of sound compensation principles and practices that support the company’s Total Rewards philosophy and strategy • Oversee compliance with legal requirements associated with compensation plans including but not limited to: Local and State laws, FLSA, EEO and Affirmative Action • Develop, implement, and maintain tools to advance, document, analyze, and report information as it relates to the compensation programs. • Prepare responses and develop presentations for management requests regarding employee compensation as well as the research and formation of compensation proposals such as job and salary structures, incentive plans, career paths, etc. • Contribute to the formulation of general compensation and general HR and Total Rewards department plans, objectives and strategies. • Develops and implements special projects as assigned

Expected Areas of Competence

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project. • Working knowledge of HRIS (preferably SAP and Success Factors). • Ability to manage external vendors and build relationships with internal clients at all levels of the organization. • Strong organization and analytical skills. • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees on highly confidential information. • Functional knowledge of all compensation practices. • Ability to manage one’s own time while coordinating multiple concurrent projects. • Ability to manage in a fast pace environment.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Requires a B.A. or B.S. in Human Resources, Business Administration or Finance plus a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ Human Resources experience, with an emphasis on compensation for at least 5 of those years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • CCP designation preferred.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 5%
