Job Description:



  • Manage existing product lines and product roads maps working cross functionally with manufacturing, sales, engineering, operations and finance to achieve planned launch dates and budgets as developed in the NPD planning process: 


    • Solid Voice-of-the-Customer (VOC)-based product development



  • Drive the development of new opportunities through products, channels, processes, technology with appropriate linkage to the company’s product portfolio and overall strategic plan.

  • Execute marketing plans to increase brand awareness and specification preference, including but not limited to digital, direct marketing, electronic and printed advertising.

  • Monitor execution of the marketing expense budget and participate in the development and substantiation of it.

  • Actively participate in the development of the three-year strategic plan and insure that sales and marketing goals set thereof are achieved.

  • Develop, evaluate and continually review marketing programs for assigned products to ensure that established objectives are met.

  • Investigate the competition and research and identify potential new products that will assist the organization in gaining a competitive edge.

  • Develop and provide product information for internal and external use to ensure sales and distributor personnel have the proper tools to sell our products.

  • Develop and continually evaluate the pricing structure of assigned product lines to ensure adequate profit margin and a competitive position in the marketplace.

  • Coordinate product planning and development with sales, finance, engineering, and manufacturing leading to the successful introduction of new products.

  • Coordinate the new product development process to make sure that NPD and product maintenance initiatives are dedicated sufficient resources to meet the agreed upon product plans.

  • Represent the Company at various trade shows, ensuring that our products are displayed appropriately and that the right communication material is available for distribution.

  • Participate in negotiation with outside vendors and internal departments as appropriate.

  • Plan and direct the development of the communications program for assigned products and manage the deployment of the material.

  • Promote, direct and assist sales activities among selected types of customers or prospects and provide information for sales forecasts.

  • Evaluate the timely adjustment of marketing strategies and plans to respond to changing markets and provides marketing advice and guidance to distributors.

Other Responsibilities


  • Prepare reports that interpret market conditions and potentials.

  • Insure product line application is in compliance with current building and performance code requirements such as UL, Intertek, ETL, ICBO, BOCA, ANSI/BHMA etc. standards.

Skills/Experience Requirements


  • Action and result oriented. The position requires a self-motivated, high energy individual capable of logically diagnosing symptoms, developing alternative courses of actions and deploying substantiated recommendations.

  • Strong working knowledge of CRM systems, preferably Oracle or Siebel.

  • Top 90% MS Office user – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

  • Top 80% SharePoint User, including website maintenance and light web applications

  • Strong decision-making requiring detail analysis and investigation with solutions requiring original thinking and a high degree of judgment significantly affecting multiple areas of the Company.

  • Ability to see the big picture, build a team-oriented approach to problem solving and analyze the marketplace to ensure the Company remains competitive.

  • Required to establish objectives that affect the marketing function of the assigned product line.

  • Demeanor and bearing that will garner the respect of peers and subordinates.

  • Customer service orientation and emphasis on results, diplomacy, multitasking and priority setting.

  • Technology savvy

Education Requirements


  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Systems Engineering or related studies. 

  • 3 to 6 years of related experience.
