Responsibilities

Dematic is currently looking for a Director of Global Supplier Development to join our growing Procurement Organization in Atlanta, GA, or Dallas, TX (other locations may be acceptable). The role will work closely with other procurement sub-functions, operations, Project engineering, and supplier quality to prioritize efforts for improvement of supplier performance, capabilities, and capacity. This is a critical role for Dematic, as the candidate will have the key purpose of leading efforts targeting high-risk and high-opportunity portions of our supply base, investing in them, and turning them into world class brand worthy suppliers.  Given Dematic’s relative industry size and current growth trajectory, the candidate must understand supplier risks, choose targets wisely, and lead suppliers to necessary levels of excellence strategically and proactively.

Other responsibilities and accountabilities include:


  • Lead and direct global team of Supplier Development Engineers.

  • Ensure supplier capacity improvement efforts meet business demands with both new and existing suppliers.

  • Supplier Performance Excellence - Drive supplier capability and continuous improvement action plans.

  • Develop Lean Supplier Chain – Implement global programs for more nimble strategic supply base.

  • Enable cross-functional Influence and Execution – Partner with Category Management and Project engineering in providing and executing common global supplier selection, on-boarding & development processes.

  • Manage common global supplier metrics and data reporting to support performance improvement targets.

  • Improve global supplier quality, on-time delivery, lead time and cost efficiency.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE


  • Proven history of leading a global team supporting the execution of lean supply chain principles.

  • Preferred 10 years management experience with background in process improvement preferred.

  • Preferred 5 years Supplier Development or Supplier Quality experience.

  • Change Agent with the ability to influence stakeholders (both internally and externally).

COMPETENCIES & EDUCATION


  • Ability to use hard data and metrics to develop business case and support recommendations.

  • Embodies KION Group Value of Integrity, Collaboration, Courage and Excellence.

  • Ability to lead multi-stakeholder and multi-region special projects and initiatives.

  • 4-year Degree from an Accredited University required.

  • Masters-Degree Preferred.

  • Advanced coursework in Lean, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen and/or related CI tools.

  • Six Sigma/Lean Blackbelt preferred.
