BASIC PURPOSE:

The primary responsibility of the Director, Collections & Cash Application is to oversee day-to-day operations within the departments. The Director is responsible for the management of the assigned portfolios to meet the company's quarterly target on cash collection and past terms balances. This individual will also be responsible for implementing processes and controls to ensure write offs are minimized, PO are funded, billing issues are identified and resolved, and customer's AR balance remain within established credit limits. The Director will also monitor customers' performance against approved payment plans and will manage all account assignments to our third-party collection agency, as well as be the first credit escalation level when a prospect's credit profile is under the company's guidelines.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the productivity and address/resolve escalations from the Collections & Cash Applications teams.

  • Act as the subject matter expert and point of escalation in matters concerning credit, credit rating, collection strategy and customer communication.

  • Ensure that the cash on accounts are maintained at a sustainable level.

  • Provide month end analysis and dashboards for the Finance team, as well as the corporation external Auditors.

  • Provide support to Treasury department as needed.

  • Review processes and proactively identify key operational pain points, work with the respective departments, and propose enhancement for automation and efficiency.

  • Develop and document requirements when implementing new processes and systems that affect the departments.

  • Act as business liaison to IT for special projects on selected initiatives.

  • Key business expert on Single AR projects. Will work to help define requirements, test, and roll out, ROI and on time delivery.

  • Report at the Executive level, present data, and processes in a concise, yet complete manner and identify risks and mitigation factors.

  • Manage, signoff and audit all assigned key controls.

  • Effectively manage relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Demonstrate leadership and empowering the team.

  • Oversee departmental scorecard and various reporting.

  • Other special projects/duties as assigned.

  • A key 2021-2022 enterprise initiative is the implementation of a single middle office and AR system. The Director will be expected to actively work on this project, from requirement, configuration, testing, and training, to go-live.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' experience in managing, engaging, innovative in leading team members.

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the order to cash processes.

  • Must have strong technology understanding and analytical thinking capability to support solutions for operational efficiency.

  • Must have process improvement background and communicate efficiently complex subject in clear and concise manner.

  • Influence and change agent with leading partnership style.

  • Automate, Improve, Design, Streamline processes for optimal results.

  • Accounting, Analytics, detail oriented, capable to assess broader picture

  • Excellent problem solving /analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance but also a team player sharing ideas and project responsibilities

  • Ability to prioritize and show flexibility as needed

  • Ability to work under deadline pressures while maintaining a positive work environment
