Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Environmental, Health & Safety, engineering, or similar degree;
3 plus years of related safety experience,

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following.Other duties may be assigned.
Assists in development, implementation, administration, and ongoing evaluation and enhancement of programs and policies for monitoring and preventing hazards at the facility, ensuring personnel and facility safety, and tracking and evaluating injuries.
Provides technical guidance to management regarding safety issues.
Conducts or coordinates training to educate employees about safety policies, laws, and practices.
Compiles, and analyzes data relating to occupational and environmental health issues such as chemical exposure, smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, dust, vapors, solvents, lighting, and ergonomics which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health.
Tours plant to inspect equipment machinery and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Performs safety measurements, safety evaluations, and hazardous waste evaluations.
Investigates or assists in investigations of industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.
Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if safety precautions have been included. Evaluates human activities working with new machinery and equipment to identify hazards.
Determines requirement for safety clothing, and safety devices on equipment.
Maintains first aid certification and provides minor first aid to injured employees.
Monitors the company's health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Implements or recommends control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions. Develops or provides input to hazardous material communications, including maintaining material safety data sheets.
