Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst within the Global Operations finance team will be a key part in providing assistance in managing Ferro’s strategic long-term earnings, cash flow, and shareholder return. In addition the Senior Financial Analyst will support improvements to processes and methodologies relating to finance activities and ensure these processes are carried out in an effective, controlled, and efficient manner.
Responsibilities Related to the Job:
Responsible for providing analysis supporting monthly, quarterly, board and audit committee reporting and detailed analysis for the Global Operations organization. Provide insight to help maximize business results.
Coordinate and compile financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting analysis.
Prepare and present analyses including variance analyses and strategic scenario planning.
Interpret financial and project data, variance analysis, and key business drivers to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
Analyze data for reasonableness & review variances by considering sources, current business activities and historical trends prior to releasing information to business stakeholders
Provide historical data and project future year financials for strategic planning
Support financial closing activities and provide post-closing analytics and reporting by coordinating with international accounting teams and Corporate FP&A
Prepare ad-hoc reporting, analysis and presentations
Drive financial modelling improvements to enhance forecasting and analytical processes
Evaluate and own technology improvements and business process improvements
Develop, validate, and maintain data sets from asymmetric sources of data.

Qualifications and Knowledge:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business discipline required
MBA or CPA preferred
4-7 years’ experience in an accounting/finance role in manufacturing environment with varied financial modeling experience (variance, forecasting, budgeting, NPV)
First-hand experience performing analysis in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with manufacturing metrics such as plant spend.
High level of proficiency with Excel and financial modeling (lookups, macros, conditional formatting, automated data feeds)
Experience with financial reporting and enterprise resource planning systems (SAP, BPC, BO and BW)
Proficiency with PowerPoint and presenting complex financial concepts to senior plant and operations leaders
Familiarity with Access, SQL, or VBA very helpful
Familiarity sorting, filtering, and joining large datasets helpful
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/German a plus, but not mandatory
Competencies/Job Skills:
A clear thinker with proven technical skills in financial modeling, data analysis, and ERP systems
Very strong analytical skills and an ability so see trends and inconsistencies in data
Ability to solve problems and quickly grasp complex situations
Ability to compile and coordinate forecasts, budgets, and financial projects requiring complex input from cross-functional teams
Ability to analyze and model complex financial concepts and structures
Ability to work under pressure and develop ad hoc, unstructured analysis
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Ethical and credible, with ability to develop and maintain effective control mechanisms
Flexible approach and self-motivated with strong team spirit
