Equifax is looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our world-class Global Identity and Fraud Analytics team. You will be working in a dynamic environment, where we embrace moving quickly to build the core capabilities of our global platform. In this exciting role, you will be applying your data science and wrangling skills and build out superior features, models and insights to solve customer problems in Identity and Fraud.
Qualified candidates will have a strong “high performance computing and/or Google Cloud Computing” background, passion for data science, data mining, machine learning and experience with big data architecture and associated methods.
The ideal candidate will combine the skills to create new prototypes with the creativity and thoroughness to ask and answer the deepest questions about the data, what secrets it holds, and to push the boundaries of what is possible with big data. In addition, you will exhibit data and process curiosity, desire to learn new concepts, have a strong customer focus and ‘product sense’ along with superior data science and data engineering skills and experience.

You will be an integral part of the ID & Fraud Data Sciences team that works closely with internal and external clients to develop innovative ideas, execute on product roadmaps and participate in all phases of the prototype development
Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with huge data sets and apply state of the art machine learning, statistics or data mining to solve challenging ID & Fraud problems
Design and build data pipelines and perform data wrangling to enable explorations with new data assets, incorporating user feedback with online or active learning to improve algorithms
Mine Big Data and other unstructured data to tap untouched data sources and deliver insight into new and emerging solutions
Work with key stakeholders and understand their needs to develop new or improve existing solutions around data and analytics
Master’s degree or higher in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics or other related discipline
5+ years of professional experience applying analytics to solve fraud/risk in financial services, payment, ecommerce or related arena
5+ years of experience using problem solving skills with the ability to design algorithms, which may include data cleaning, data mining, data clustering and pattern recognition methodologies
Expertise in relational, NoSQL (or related technologies) and at least one general purpose programming such as Python, Scala, Java is required
PhD
Agile development including Scrum and other lean techniques
Experience in performing analysis using Google BigQuery, and other Google Cloud Platform technologies, Hive, Impala, Scala+ Spark or PySpark
