Thales is seeking a Product Manager near one of our Thales Offices. The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring achievement of strategic revenue objectives for the Thales Key Management Systems, CipherTrust Manager and Data Security Manager.  This role collaborates with other Product Managers and/or Director level positions within a product portfolio in establishing short- and medium-term strategy.  While strategy is part of the responsibility – the focus of this role is on execution.  The role may include managerial responsibility for Product Owners within the product family.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage the Product Lifecycle, working closely with development teams, from product initiation to delivery to eventual product retirement


  • Develop competitive positioning and market strategy to influence product roadmaps.


  • Take ownership and oversight of the Thales Key Management products – CipherTrust Manager and Data Security Manager.


  • Negotiate between roadmap features and development schedules.


  • Make trade-off decisions within product family between demands on product, engineering, and sales.


  • Collaborate with the Product Owners to define product roadmaps and influence backlog prioritization with engineering.


  • Collaborate with internal functions in support of the product such as client services, customer service, operations, marketing, engineering and finance to ensure successful launch and customer experience.


  • Engage with Sales and Business Development to evangelize solutions and gather feedback on customer use cases and areas to expand our partner ecosystem.


  • Communicate with senior management to ensure awareness of product roadmap and strategy.


  • Present Thales Key Management Products to customers and support Sales in key accounts.


Required Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on Computer Science, Engineering, or IT Management field of study.


  • 5-7+ years of experience in product management with an emphasis towards Agile product development.


  • Experience interacting with buyer or manager personas at customer organizations both in sales and technical situations.


  • Experience interacting with engineering, technical and/or program manager roles for a high-tech product


  • Demonstrable experience in professional presentation skills both verbal and written with the ability to adapt messages easily to technical and business audiences.


  • Ability to help resolve conflicts that naturally arise in the product development process and influence teams to achieve common goals.


  • Proven techniques for tracking market trends and opportunities.


  • Ability to manage and adapt priorities as required.


  • Willingness to advocate for customer needs and/or portfolio well-being.


  • Based on the global nature of the business the position may require semi-regular interaction with international colleagues at unconventional hours.


  • Domestic and International travel may be required 10% or up to 25% of the time.


Preferred Skills and Experience:


  • Experience with enterprise deployments and Cloud environments either technical or operational with a focus on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Salesforce, IBM, and others cloud services


  • Technical and/or Market knowledge of one or more of the following fields:


  • Enterprise Key Management


  • Data Security


  • Data Encryption (Enterprise Databases, Big Data, File/Folder, Virtual Machine, Container Technologies, Secrets Management)


  • Cloud Security


  • RESTful and/or SOAP APIs


  • Familiarity with the following compliance standards:


  • FIPS


  • PCI-DSS


  • GDPR


  • Proven track record supporting products for a global marketplace.


  • Pragmatic Marketing Certification and/or Agile development team experience an asset.
