OVERVIEW

The General Accountant's responsibilities will be to provide timely and accurate processing of financial transactions related to accounting activities in accordance with fairlife's accounting policies and principals, US GAAP and local government regulations.This includes activity related to, but is not limited to, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Cost, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Accounting

• General Ledger - Support the monthly financial statement close process


• Prepare and post journal entries and month-end accruals


• Monitor day-to-day general ledger activity


• Review financial data


• Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations


• Participate in Year-end and interim Audit and Tax Support

• Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities within specified time frames


• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities


• Record related cost associated with invoiced product where transaction is not integrated

• Prepare cost accounting entries


• Reconcile balance sheet cost accounts to ensure data integrity


• Support the plants' costing process

• Develop processes and procedures to ensure proper controls


• Manage accounting transactions for fixed assets


• Provide analysis and reconciliation of capital project and fixed assets


• Prepare Lease versus Buy and Capital versus Operating analysis

• Recommend process improvement and action plans


• Perform ad hoc financial analysis as required


• Perform other related duties & participates in special projects as assigned

• 3-4 years of general accounting experience


• Foundational accounting knowledge of debits, credits, assets and liabilities


• Proficient in Microsoft products, database software and other applicable accounting and financial software and systems


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and have the ability to prioritize


• Dairy experience a plus


• Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance.CPA and/or MBA a plus
