Job Location: REMOTE; Army Research Lab (ARL), Adelphi, MD or Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD

This role requires an experienced ServiceNow Developer (not a ServiceNow Administrator) to work in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.  This role is to design and develop core and tailored ServiceNow applications for our product owners and customer stakeholder from end to end. The candidate shall work with team members, product owners, customers and end-users to understand their requirements, current architecture, and approach needed to develop for the success of the product. The candidate’s design will set the standard for future development, so the team may craft an architecture which resourcefully works with existing infrastructure without compromising security.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • The candidate for our ServiceNow Developer position will work with customers and within a small development team to design and develop ServiceNow web application solutions, migrating existing applications from legacy platforms to a newer robust infrastructure. Analysis of existing customer requirements with attention to how improvements can be made will be critical to the success of this position.

  • The candidate is expected to actively participate in requirements capture and definition meetings with the client, and may be responsible for application architecture, development, deployment, administration, and systems testing. Additionally, the candidate must be equally comfortable working independently or with team member, be self-motivated, exhibit exceptional problem-solving skills, and have an aptitude for learning new technologies.

  • Service Portal Development experience, including experience with Bootstrap, AngularJS, SCSS, JavaScript, HTML, and jQuery.

  • Experience creating request forms, developing integration with external systems, implementing security (including Access Control Lists), and enhancing the user interface to provide a custom look and feel.

  • Ensure compliance for required standards and all necessary approvals have been obtained throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Effectively communicate with team members, customers, partners and management, including assisting with or conducting requirement walkthroughs and sprint reviews, reporting project status, enabling vendor solutions and providing accurate and concise documentation.

  • Experience with software design and development.

  • Strong experience with ServiceNow development, including core ITSM tables, Glide, scripting, business rules, client scripts, data imports, custom apps, and development methods.

Requirements


  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Four (4)+ years of ServiceNow Developer experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and team-oriented skills

  • Experience in/knowledge of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle, including Scrum and Kanban

  • Proficiency in JIRA and MS Office Suite

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Problem-Solving

  • Communication Skills

  • Report Writing

  • Workflow diagram creation

  • Experience working with the JIRA application

  • Other duties as assigned

Security Clearance Level:


  • NACI-T1 Clearance or higher

Education:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similarly related field (4+ years of additional experience can be substituted for bachelor’s degree.

Certification(s) preferred:


  • CompTIA Security+ Certification

  • ServiceNow Certification
