Job Description:
In 1985, Koch Foods started as a one-room chicken de-boning and cutting operation with 13 employees. We’ve grown to be one of the top poultry processors in the U.S., but the core of who we are remains unchanged: a team that is adept, reliable and service oriented.
A poultry facility Maintenance Supervisor is primarily responsible for achieving immediate and short-term maintenance objectives as provided by management. In addition, supervisor will direct daily work tasks of Maintenance Technicians ensuring operational objectives are met.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Mentor and motivate employees, providing training and professional development optimizing performance and personal growth
- Ensure compliance with regulations relating to safety, security, GMP, sanitation, etc.
- Discipline and report breaches in policy to appropriate management
- Assign and ensure completion of daily work orders for Maintenance Technicians
- Perform lock out/tag out certifications on all equipment
- Communicate performance standards with team members, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments while counseling performance issues
- Facilitate employee meetings, including employee training
- Ensure completion and maintenance of appropriate documentation
- Ensure compliance with Company, quality and HACCP standards and procedures
- Perform required safety checks
- All other relevant duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree and/or technical certification preferred
- 3+ years supervisory experience, preferably within poultry or food manufacturing environment
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with general Spanish communication skills preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Able to work weekends as needed
Physical/Environmental Factors:
- Cold, damp, wet environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees.
- Stand/walk majority of shift
- Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels
- Climb stairs, frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend
- Exposure to strong, raw and foul odors
