Job Summary:
The Maintenance Superintendent is primarily responsible for supporting the daily maintenance and sanitation operations, supervising technicians, and assisting the Maintenance Manager. Will also ensure PSMs, SOPs, HACCP, HAZMAT and all maintenance programs meet the standards for company, state and federal policies and procedures.
Shift hours are generally from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of site maintenance (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc.)
- Work with supervisors ensuring safe equipment operations, maximizing reliability and minimizing cost
- Work with supervisors ensuring work orders are completed properly and timely
- Assign projects to supervisors, assisting if necessary and verifying completion
- Update Maintenance Manager on unresolved issues and projects
- Comply with all company policies ensuring maintenance supervisors and technicians are complying
- All other jobs as assigned
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma
- 5 years maintenance experience; poultry experience preferred
- 2 years supervisor experience; poultry industry experience preferred
- Ability to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction
- Communication and organizational skills
Physical/Environmental Factors:
- Cold, damp, wet environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees
- Stand/walk 100% of work day
- Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels
- Bend, stoop, and lift various weights as needed
- Climb stairs, frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend
- Exposure to strong, raw odors
- Bending, twisting, stacking, pushing and standing for long periods of time
- Manual dexterity of hands and wrists
