Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Lead ongoing category management activities within assigned scope of spend categories in alignment with the Zep strategic sourcing process to achieve business objectives and saving targets
Identify and leverage company-wide spend opportunities
Lead supplier selection & recommendation activities including: qualitative/quantitative analysis, selection criteria, long/short lists, RFI/RFP development, and bid analysis
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for highest spend, greatest complexity, and most critical/strategic categories
Develop implementation strategy, responsibility assignments, communications plans, and timeline
Provide direction and support to teams for initiatives critical to the business
Conduct thorough spend analysis, develop methodology and metrics tools to track progress
Work collaboratively with R&D, Compliance, QC, and other internal and external partners to lower cost of ownership and drive innovation
Builds relationships with key stakeholders to gather category requirements and specifications from departments and category subject matter experts
Ensure tactical execution of purchasing activities to meet routine business needs
Develop market intelligence on materials and supply base worldwide, monitor key events that may result in a security of supply risk (natural disasters, force majeure, transportation issues, etc.).
Identify, evaluate and recommend business process improvement opportunities utilizing procurement knowledge, current and emerging business models and creative business approaches. Assess risk management for material supply and contract agreements
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS), or equivalent, in Science, Engineering, business, supply chain or relevant major/curriculum required. Masters in related field a plus.
At least 1-3 years of progressive Sourcing experience
Specific experience in direct sourcing preferred
Analytical mindset
Working knowledge and understanding of SAP / ERP / MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and a high level of attention to detail in a complex data driven environment, across multiple ERP systems.
Demonstrated ability to identify, leverage, and implement metrics and other tools to drive supplier performance
Strong understanding and proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc)
Demonstrated ability to use quantitative and analytical skills to assess business situations and solve problems
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Demonstrated experience and ability to contribute in cross-functional collaborative environment
Comfortable working with ambiguity and small amounts of information to define actionable steps
Excellent organizational skills
