Overview


Reporting to the Director of Benefits & Rewards, this role functions as the initial point of contact for all DFCI staff members and retirees' day-to-day inquiries with a focus on employee benefits and leaves of absence. Responsible for providing high-level customer service, orientation presentations, timely tracking and reporting of departmental metrics, and supporting the day-to-day operations of Benefits.

Requirements



  • Is one of two lead resource for triaging routine requests received by phone, email, Ask HR inbox, mail, and "walk-in" visits; assesses each request to determine appropriate handling. Directs all non-routine requests to the appropriate HR staff.

  • Tracks electronically all inquiries received on a timely basis. Acts as a resource to the metric reporting process.

  • Greets and assists walk-in customers with routine questions.

  • Presents to audiences being on-boarded to DFCI regarding benefit programs.

  • Assists HR staff with researching requests and obtaining additional documentation and information.

  • Assists with planning and implementation of Benefits & Well-Being programing including scheduling, preparing communications, and metric tracking.

  • Assists with departmental audits and/or surveys.

  • Assists with basic document preparation (e.g. spreadsheets, Word docs, slides, org charts), data entry, booking of conference rooms, assembly of employee packages and mailing projects.

  • Assists with Recognition Programming as needed.

  • Assists with the approvals and tracking of Personnel Change Forms and Special Pays.

  • Performs duties related to other special projects as required.




Qualifications



  • H.S. diploma or equivalent required; associates degree preferred

  • 1 - 3 years office experience in customer service environment preferred

  • Human Resources experience highly desirable

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Strong customer-service skills is a necessity with an affinity for satisfying customer concerns

  • Comfort with handling emotional employee situations with an ability to navigate negative results to as positive an outcome as possible.

  • Desire for a career path in HR, leave administration, benefits, employee relations, and/or social work.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office programs and experience with HRIS is preferred.

  • Must possess strong organizing and prioritizing skills.

  • Ability to self-motivate while working as part of an HR team, and handle multiple priorities within specific deadlines.
