POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides leadership of Quality for the Paris, TX facility. The position is the Quality Management Representative for the site. This includes leadership and technical support for Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Quality Management System Compliance teams and activities supporting Class 1 (GMP exempt) medical devices, and CPSA-regulated consumer products.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Acts as the manager of the facility Quality team, providing strategy, capability-building, and direct support to the facility in the areas of Quality and Regulatory Compliance. Has functional oversight and responsibility for quality systems executed by the Quality department, including Management Review, control of Documented Information, Supplier Quality Management, Complaint investigation and management, Internal Audit, Monitoring & Measurement, Analysis & Evaluation, and CAPA. Provides support from self and team to the facility to ensure the product, regulatory, and QMS requirements are met.


  • Ensures team identifies need for, develops, and executes improvement plans for quality, in accordance with facility objectives, enterprise objectives, and applicable requirements.


  • Builds and maintains capability within the facility for compliance with the Kimberly-Clark QMSR, 21 CFR 820 medical device cGMPs (non-exempt elements), and other applicable regulations and standards.


  • Ensures that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed as applicable.


  • Ensures production and quality systems audits are performed.


  • Supports execution of improvement plans for safety, delivery, and cost, in accordance with facility objectives. Ensures Quality team delivery of these objectives, where applicable.


  • Demonstrate safety as a value by performing all job functions safely, while also complying with corporate and facility policies and procedures, in an effort to reduce risk and eliminate loss.


  • Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both the Kimberly-Clark Quality Management System Requirements (QMSR) and applicable government regulations for the products manufactured.


  • Execute continuous improvement activities for established processes and initiates/supports development of new processes.


  • Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of applicable product forms, their manufacturing processes, internal requirements and controls, and external standards.


  • Participate in the development of others in the area of incumbent's expertise, while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience.

SCOPE

This position reports to KCNA Baby & Child Care Quality Sr Manager, with a dotted line relationship to the Site/Facility Manager. The position is the Manager of the facility Quality Team, and serves as part of the Site leadership team. The position leads the establishment of facility objectives for quality, and ensures systems are in place to deliver quality results and meeting internal and regulatory standards. The position supports the achievement of facility objectives for safety, quality, delivery, cost and people.

The Quality Manager manages other team leaders/teams with direct accountability Quality Control (QC), and directly manages personnel responsible for Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Management Systems (QMS). Team includes a variety of salaried and hourly roles.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related discipline and 8+ years of broad experience in a Quality, Manufacturing, Research or Regulatory function.


  • Requires prior leadership experience with teams, systems, and/or large sized projects.


  • Knowledge of Medical Device (21 CFR 820) cGMP requirements is strongly desired.


  • Desired experiences include some combination of: CAPA/problem-solving, change management, risk management/FMEA, and application of LEAN/ Continuous Improvement skills.
