As a Structural Engineer on the
Fremont R&D/Energy Infrastructure team you will be playing a critical role
in New and Tenant Improvement projects at Tesla facilities across the greater
bay area. You will manage multiple critical capex projects working with
internal and external stakeholders, interfacing with end users, construction
engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams while ensuring your scopes are
ahead of schedule and under budget.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review structural
analysis and design calculations of imposed dynamic loads and equipment
using governing codes and standards
Analyze existing
buildings/structures and support demolition or relocation work
Manage design and development
of new or modified support structures for a variety of project types
Evaluate temporary loads for
construction projects including falsework design, connection design,
shoring design, and stability analysis
Provide technical guidance on
complex design and field issues.
Produce detailed fabrication
drawings and specifications, utilizing design software such as AutoCAD,
Solid works, Revit.
Prepare preliminary concepts
and designs for quotes and comment on project specifications
Interact with contractors,
fabricators, stakeholders, sometimes as lead, other times as a peer in
team environments.
Work with architects and
engineers to develop a cohesive and coordinated design
Provide field support including
recording existing field conditions, taking and verifying measurements
within project area, and identify information gaps that might increase
risk to overall success.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil
Engineering with Structural Engineering concentration
Register Professional Engineer
(PE) in California or Register required Professional Structural Engineer
(SE) preferred.
Experience in design and
analysis of structural steel, wood and concrete buildings and structures.
Strong background in
construction & working with various vendors with demonstrated focus on
constructability
Experience reading, reviewing,
and approving shop and fabrication drawings.
8 - 10 years of experience in
structural design/analysis
Construction field support
including observations reports, construction administration
Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, AISC
codes and experience in their application.
Strong interpersonal, written
communications, and presentation skills.
Experience using modeling
software, Solid works, AutoCAD 3D, Revit.
Design experience using RISA
3D, ETABS, or equivalent FEA software
