We are looking for a full-time Front-End Engineer for our headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for developing scalable web applications for our core Garmin.com website. The ideal candidate has a passion for development and understands how they fit into the ever-changing front-end landscape, as well as a desire to explore the following opportunities:
Develop highly visible web applications that are used by millions of worldwide customers across 50+ countries
Collaborate with global engineering teams using exciting technologies including React, Vue, GraphQL, Node.js, Cloud Foundry, Elasticsearch, CSS3, and HTML5
Participate in the full development lifecycle from concept, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
Maintain all aspects of an application including front-end, backend, data integration, UI design, and optimization
Engage in a diverse development culture that encourages you to focus your expertise while expanding your knowledge of all areas of modern front-end development
Create intuitive customer experiences using REST APIs and web components
Iterate quickly in an Agile, CI/CD driven environment with daily production releases
Embrace ambitious and innovative concepts including component-based architecture, edge computing, functional programming, micro-frontends, and test-driven development

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from a four-year college or university plus 5 years of experience OR equivalent years of experience. Other requirements include:
Expert knowledge of JavaScript/Node.js
Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS
Experience developing web applications using JavaScript frameworks (Vue, React, Angular, etc.)
Experience using REST and AJAX
Experience with web standards, usability, and accessibility principles
Experience communicating and interacting with non-technical individuals
Experience mentoring junior developers
Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
