DESCRIPTION

U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

Michael Baker International is seeking an enthusiastic, articulate, motivated Project Manager II to join our dynamic and growing Project Management team at our Moon Township, PA office. A current focus of our team is on growing the Federal (Department of Defense - DoD), Federal Civilian (non-DoD) Agencies, and International project opportunities, along with market-driven diversification including Healthcare, Transit, and Adaptive Re-Use. The successful candidate will be an architect or engineer that demonstrates significant experience with Federal clients delivering their large, complex Architectural/Engineering (A/E) projects, including Design/Build delivery, that includes geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary, collaborative project design teams composed of architects, civil engineers, building systems engineers and interior designers. Responsible for all aspects of project management - cradle to grave - the candidate must be adept at reviewing proposals/plans to determine probabilities of winning an opportunity, making recommendations, determining project time frames and funding limitations, outlining procedures for accomplishing project requirements and allotment of available resources to various project phases. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to develop new - and deepen existing - positive relationships, both internally and externally, with colleagues and new clients, respectively. Articulate, concise and consistent communication is essential for working with leadership and with project staff to outline workplan, assign duties, responsibilities, quality control and scope of authority, all the while ensuring that project milestones and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed scope, schedule and budget parameters and finally, clearly documenting/communicating project progress to team and leadership.

Other essential skills include creative problem-solving, organizational skills, financial project management skills, strong production management capabilities, and a good understanding of construction documents and constructability. A sense of humor never hurts.


  • Develop/implement project work plans/methodologies for complex projects

  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget

  • Generate purchase orders and invoices

  • Participate in interviews with prospective employees

  • Leverage existing relationships to help create new opportunities for Michael Baker International

  • Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans, as required

  • Prepare project reports for management, clients or others



EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a proficient understanding of inter-relationships among design/engineering disciplines, clients, and Design/Build constructors

  • Experience with proposal management and Design/Build technical response proposals

  • Must be able to build rapport and establish positive relationships with existing and prospective Michael Baker International clients to ensure client-focused performance

  • Understand Michael Baker International's competitor services and offerings; actively seek to build our technical services to be comparable with, or superior to, competitors' consulting service offerings

  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM)(Autodesk Revit Architecture/AutoCAD) software (current software versions)



PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION



  • MUST RESIDE WITHIN THE PITTSBURGH AREA OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE


  • BS/BA Architecture or Engineering; Bachelor of Architecture; or MS/MA Architecture or Engineering

  • Licensed Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE)

  • LEED Accredited Professional BD C is highly preferred

  • PMP Credentials preferred

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the coordination and management of architecture and engineering projects beyond initial licensure

  • Travel is required
