The Credit Middle Office Quality Control Director is a leader for the Global Private Bank Credit business. The goal of the global Quality Control organization is to implement effective compensating controls for high risk manual processes. This role is responsible for overseeing a global team of professionals executing the current control environment for credit transactions and collaborating across all credit functions. The Quality Control Director acts as a conduit for various internal control teams and agendas. The Director will interface with line staff, operations managers, and senior leadership, across each of the global footprint locations (U.S., Europe, and Asia). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of positive collaboration on highly complex topics, operational excellence, and operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
Execute on the strategic vision for the future state of PB Credit operations
Create and foster a positive environment for collaboration
Represent Credit Middle Office across various forums and internal parties including Controllers across Finance organizations, centralized Control Oversight organizations, Quality Assurance programs, all audits, Credit Reviews, exams, and the like
Provide direct management across multi-function teams in footprint locations (Westerville, Edinburgh, Geneva, Singapore, and oversight of Manila).
Support critical businesses that require specialized expertise in documentation and legal engagement, foreign language requirements, ensure the accuracy of the largest and most complex loan transactions across the global loan portfolio
Lead data driven analysis using foundational data results for problem solving and process improvements with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities and shape recommendations
Foster and lead opportunities for Change Mobilization across the QC functions, and represent Credit in the broader Private Bank Operations Center of Excellence
Maintain strong rigor and governance on scope, results, process documentation, and facilitate ongoing feedback for trending, performance, and other metrics to key stakeholders and senior leaders
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in financial services, operations, controls, or related discipline
Proven ability to manage multi-functional teams and/or global, larger teams with complex interdependencies and multiple stakeholders
Strong knowledge of control environments and formal control requirements
Strong presentation and communication skills - ability to articulate and tell a story to senior leadership
Experience championing change and innovation and strong understanding of end-to-end process design principles
Significant experience directly managing teams as well as influencing teams across the organization to achieve results. Demonstrated talent to coach / mentor / train others in the organization to raise the performance bar
Prior working experience with extended teams such as internal legal, senior risk officers, or audit
BS/BA or equivalent in a relevant field of study
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with lending, mortgage, or other related credit industry, an understanding of key regulations and fulfillment activities like processing, underwriting, risk, client service, funding
Demonstrated use of intelligent automation tools like Automation Anywhere, Alteryx, Xceptor and Signavio
Experience with client documentation or data quality
Master's degree in a relevant field of study preferred but not required.
