Job Description:

The Brand and Marketing Research team supports and advances strategic decision making within Marketing and across Best Buy by engaging cross-functionally and providing consumer, brand and advertising insights that are relevant and contextualized.

As an Associate Research Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for developing and executing holistic ad and campaign measurement plans, identifying and socializing learnings and recommendations based on media and creative performance, and leading research to identify optimization opportunities.

Candidates must demonstrate strong collaboration and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels within the organization. Individuals must be curious, detail-oriented, results-driven, creative, and demonstrate strategic thinking while maintaining data integrity.

The ideal candidate for this role will have an ability to bring strategic consumer and marketing insights to the forefront of marketing planning and will translate insights into actionable business decisions. They will also have experience designing and implementing marketing research studies in a competitive retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain database and reporting rhythms for ongoing creative performance testing
• Ensure effective communication of market and consumer data, including synthesizing them into actionable insights
• Manage third party vendor partnerships to ensure learning objectives are met and quality research standards are maintained
• Translate business questions and issues into learning plans. Then lead, design, conduct and synthesize different types of research studies to meet the overall needs of the internal business client
• Find opportunities to develop and champion the use of new research methods, including consumer neuroscience research, to address unique measurement challenges and evolving trends
• Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and working productively and efficiently under pressure

Basic Requirements:
• 6 or more years’ experience in Marketing, Advertising, Media Planning & Buying, Research or related area
• 3 or more years project management experience
• 3 or more years research, analytics, statistics and/or database knowledge and experience (using tools, applications, platforms, etc.)
• Concept testing research experience
• Ability to identify new issues, trends and opportunities from data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Extensive MS PowerPoint skills (ability to build comprehensive presentations)
• Experience with research methodologies (both qualitative and quantitative)
• Ability to synthesize data, develop insights, and identify and communicate recommendations
• Some travel may be required

Preferred Requirements:
• Advanced degree in Marketing, Advertising, Media Planning & Buying, Research or related field
• 1-year leadership experience in a consumer insights function for a global consumer-oriented organization in retail, manufacturing, or a related industry
• Multi-channel/multi-brand business experience
• Confirmit or other survey software programming and analysis experience
